The Board of Education has five members. It holds a public hearing on the budget. It then adopts the annual budget by July 1 for the coming fiscal year. That is Ed. Code section 42127(a). The County Superintendent may conditionally approve or disapprove a budget. That happens when the budget lacks adequate assurance the district can meet its obligations. That is section 42127(b)(2). Five elected trustees, one per trustee area.
