The board approves VIA’s budget. City Council names five trustees. Bexar County names three. The suburban mayors name two. Board members choose the chair. Voters do not elect the VIA board. The board is appointed, not elected.
When decisions happen
The budget year starts October 1. It runs through the last day of September. Special board meetings are also held during the year.
